We can confirm that we undertake the following quality assurance checks for all agency and supply staff:
Safeguarding and DBS Checks
Enhanced DBS certificate including a children’s barred list check, and on the DBS Update Service. Overseas criminal record check if person has lived or worked outside of the UK for a period of 6 months in the last 5 years.
Identity and Right to Work Checks
Photographic proof of ID.
Further identification checks to establish identity and proof of address. Right to work for the UK (where applicable).
Teaching and Regulatory Checks
Using the Check a Teacher’s Record service (here), we confirm whether any of the following apply: Been prohibited from teaching by the Teaching Regulation Agency.
Had sanctions or restrictions placed on them by the General Teaching Council for England (GTCE). Been found guilty of serious misconduct but not prohibited from teaching.
Failed their induction or probation.
In addition:
A letter from the professional teaching regulating authority if they have worked as a teacher in an overseas country, confirming they have not imposed any sanctions or restrictions and are not aware of any reason why they may be unsuitable to teach.
Recruitment and Suitability Checks
Formal interview to include safeguarding specific questions.
Professional qualifications checks.
Employment references to cover the last 3 years including the most recent employment or placement.
Full employment history with any gaps accounted for.
Health and Compliance Checks
Occupational health check to ensure that supply staff supplied are fit for role and any adjustments required are advised.
NI, AWR, WTR and IR35 checks are completed for all staff supplied by our agency.
